    people please listen this is one of the worst movies ever on screen. everything about it looks fake. especialy the explosions. and if you want to watch it just for the races…. they are constantly interupted by flashbacks and crazy camera angles that are really hard to watch and understand. i wish i had not spent the 3 bucks on the dvd.

    That’s shitty logic. Critics are allowed to dislike a movie, directors aren’t entitled to getting an “A for effort”

    The only reasons critics suck in this case is because Speed Racer was awesome.

    It does a terrific job bringing the feel of the show to the screen though, so you probably should see it.

    I never saw the movie, because I grew up on the cartoon, so I kinda thought that I would sit and compare the two the entire time if I watched the movie, which is why I probably won’t see it.

    this movie was one of the best of 2008. the critics are scum. i think studios payed off film critics to trash this movie. because this movie was freaking awesome!

    I haven’t seen the movie. But I do know that I would hate to spend years writing a script, casting actors, shooting the film, adding the special effects, and finishing production all to have some whiny jerk critic say the film sucked and tank the movie. Have Ebert and Roeper ever acted or directed?

    My friends and I thought it was good. You have realize you’re not supposed to take it seriously. It’s just as much of a parady as it is an adaptation. I heard it cost $120 million but only grossed $40 million. I bet there are a few people who’re still shitting their pants over that. Too bad.
