The cast of Speed Racer talk in Berlin about their new movie directed by the Wachowski brothers who gave the world The Matrix.

Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, and Matthew Fox star in this cartoon brought to real life action movie.

    underrated. this was actually a good movie. i was shocked that it was actually good. it was definitely one of the top 5 movies ive seen this year as of now. the years not over yet.

    Completely agree, Nellie. And for what the other guy was saying? It’s not just that movie. She has pictures of herself that are extremely negative for little girls!

    But the movie is true to the show. It’s one of the most accurate film adaptations of anything (book, cartoon, etc.) I’ve ever seen. This movie didn’t do well because people didn’t bother to see it, or stuck with their preconceptions.

    0:38 Emile Hirsch looks like he’s having fun. haha. But I was a little surprised when Christina Ricci says she thinks there are negative images for little girls, while she has questionable images of herself on the internet.

    On the contrary, I believe the movie didn’t do as well because it wasn’t true to the show. And the show isn’t stupid. If you look past it’s obvious flaws, the show is actually very good!

    Some parts looked like a scene from the wizard of oz and charlie and the chocolate factory, lol
    Good story loved it but hated the car racing effects, it looked so fake

    yeah i believe you it’s a good movie, but to come to think, i did see some cars that looked like cars from the Hot Wheels series

    Some people came with wrong expectations about the movie because of the Wachowski Bros. This is not like a Matrix film. I really liked the visual style of the movie and it also shows that the Bros. are good in a wide variety of styles.

    Speed Racer came out a few months before Dark Knight.
    People just thought it wasn’t going to bad because the show was kind of stupid

    this is the best movie ever!!! =D i have it on dvd, it came out sept. 16. and speed is hot, i have to say. well emile hirsch, but i think he looks even better as speed racer, with the shorter black hair. he looked so cute when he first got into the mach 5 in the video. :] by the way: *steals the mach 5*

    Probably why it flopped. Also, this movie tried to appeal to today’s kids instead of the ones who grew up in the late 60s and 70s. Doesn’t work.

    At least it wasn’t as bad as that American-produced SR cartoon from the early 90s. Absolutely awful!!!
